Bodybuilders do great efforts to keep their bodies looking perfect at all times. From long workout sessions to sweating at different sports and appealing to grooming and tanning, there is little bodybuilders won’t do in their striving of achieving that god-like, sculpted body. Diets are extremely important for bodybuilders because it requires a great amount of food in order to support all that heavy weight lifting and efforts. However, many bodybuilders can end up consuming the wrong foods which will easily make them gain weight if they do not pay attention at what, how and when they eat. Eat regularly and small portions

The number one rule of those who want to keep their bodies or lose a few pounds is to eat at regular hours. Precise dieting habits will help your body digest food easier, especially when you eat small portions. A healthy digestion means getting the necessary amount of nutrients and vitamins without stocking extras of fat and unwanted grease. Thus, force yourself to have a strict eating plan with 5-6 meals a day, breakfast being the most important.

What to eat?

There is this misinformation about bodybuilders who are allowed to eat as much as they want and, especially, exactly what they want, because they make great efforts during their hard training sessions. A bodybuilder’s daily diet should not exceed 5,000 – 6,000 calories, including supplement bars and energy boosters. Watch out for what you eat too! Avoid greasy foods, sodas and sweets, as well as fast foods or junk foods. Alcohol should also be drunk in moderation. Replace your bad eating habits with fresh fruits and veggies, especially beans, soy, broccoli and spinach, which are rich in proteins, vitamins, fibers and low on calories and fat. Make a habit out of eating egg whites because they are packed with proteins which you will further need in your training sessions. Avoid red meat and pork because it is fat and replace it with lighter meats such as fish, turkey and chicken.

Watch out for your supplements

Bodybuilders are used to taking enhancers, boosters and supplements in the form of shakes, protein bars, pills and even peptides and hormones.
